I'm sorry for not inviting you to Church

Dear Friend,

I realized I haven’t invited you to Church, and I want to apologize for that.

It’s not because I don’t care, or because I don’t love you.

It's not because I’m ashamed to be a Christian, or because I don’t believe you can become one.

It's not because I don’t like my Church, or because I like it too much.

The truth is... I have been wrong all this time!

I probably assumed you don’t care about God.

I assumed many people are hunting you to their churches.

I assumed you don’t want to hear about Jesus.

I assumed you were not interested in what I have to offer.

Today, I want to say: I’m sorry.

I’m sorry for not inviting you to Church.

But I’m even more sorry for not telling you who Jesus is outside the Church.

I’m sorry for not loving you unconditionally.

I’m sorry for not reflecting on Jesus without using my words.

Today, I want to invite you to Church.

But I also want to invite you to my home... or for coffee, or for lunch.

I want to tell you all about my Jesus, but I want to hear you too.

Today, I want to apologize for not being the hands and feet of the one who loved me first.

Today, I want to love you like Jesus loves me… and loves you too.
